The enquiry comes at eleven at night, and goes cold by morning

Fitness enquiries arrive on impulse, usually late, usually after watching a reel. Motivation to message and motivation to commit have a very short overlap.

What they actually ask

  • How much for twelve sessions?
  • Do you do online coaching or in person only?
  • Is there a free intro session?
  • I've never lifted before — is that ok?
  • Do you write nutrition plans too?

What makes this different from any other business

The window between impulse and cooling off is hours, not days

Somebody who watches a transformation reel at eleven at night and messages you is at the peak of their intention. By the morning they have remembered their gym membership and their budget. This is a trade where reply latency does not reduce conversion gradually — it removes it.

Package structure is what they are really asking

Trainers price in blocks, and the question 'how much' has no single answer: per session, per block of twelve, a monthly retainer, online versus in person. Laying that out clearly in the DM, at the moment of asking, is more persuasive than a link to a page they will not open.

Beginners are asking whether they will be judged

'I've never lifted before' is not a logistics question. It is someone checking whether they will be out of place, and the answer that converts is reassurance rather than a price. Writing that answer deliberately, in your own voice, is worth more here than in almost any other trade.

Setting it up

  1. 1
Write out every package shapePer session, blocks, monthly, online, hybrid. The agent lays out the options rather than quoting one number.
  2. 2
Write the beginner answer properlyIn your own voice. This is the message that converts nervous enquiries, and it is worth more than the price list.
  3. 3
Say what is and is not includedNutrition, check-ins, programme reviews, messaging access. Ambiguity here causes refund conversations later.

What it does not do

  • It gives no training or nutrition advice — programme questions should escalate to you
  • It does not take payment or manage a subscription
  • It cannot assess injuries or medical suitability, and should be set to escalate anything of the kind

Questions

Will it give training advice?
No, and it should not. Anything about programming, injuries or medical suitability escalates to you. It handles packages, pricing, logistics and the questions that come before somebody commits.
Will it sound like me?
It answers from what you write, so it sounds like your material. For this trade that matters more than most — write the beginner and nervous-enquiry answers yourself rather than letting generic copy stand in.
